Games on a Plane (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what information the App uses and how it is handled. It applies to users worldwide. The App stores the following information on your device only (we do not collect or transmit this data to our servers):

• Display name – The name you choose during onboarding (e.g. for the greeting “Hi [name]!”).
• Preferences – Settings such as dark mode, sound effects, and haptic feedback.
• Progress and in-app data – Star balance, unlocked content, which games or features you’ve used, and whether you’ve completed onboarding.

This data is stored locally using your device’s storage (e.g. UserDefaults / App Storage) and is not sent to us or any third-party analytics by the App itself.

2. How We Use This Information

Information stored on your device is used only to:

• Personalise your experience (e.g. greeting, theme, and accessibility options).
• Remember your progress and in-app choices so you can continue where you left off.
• Respect your preference settings (sounds, haptics).

3. No Account or Server Collection

Games on a Plane does not require an account. We do not collect, store, or process your data on our own servers. All of the data described above stays on your device unless you delete the App (in which case it is removed with the App).

4. Third-Party Services

The App may use features provided by Apple that involve third-party services, such as:

• App Store – When you rate the App, share it, or update it, Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to those interactions.
• System services – Features such as the App Store (updates, ratings) use Apple’s services; we do not receive or store that data.

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of Apple or other third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will work to address it. Data used by the App is stored only on the device and is not transmitted to us.

6. Data Security

Because the data we describe is stored only on your device, its security depends on your device’s security (e.g. passcode, biometrics, and device encryption). We do not transmit or store your app data on our servers.

7. International Scope

This policy applies to all users of the App regardless of where you are located. We do not transfer your data to our servers or to other countries; the data described in this policy remains on your device only. Where local laws (including in the EEA, UK, or your country) give you additional rights, those rights are not limited by this policy.

8. Your Rights Under the GDPR (EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the following applies in addition to the rest of this policy.

• Lawful basis – We do not collect or process your personal data on our servers. Any data the App holds on your device is processed locally for the performance of our contract with you (providing the App and its features) and for our legitimate interest in offering a functional, personalised experience.
• Your rights – You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability, where applicable. Because we do not collect or store your data on our systems, you can exercise most of these rights yourself: for example, by changing your display name or preferences in the App, or by deleting the App to remove all locally stored data. To request assistance or to make a request that we cannot fulfil via the App (e.g. if you have contacted us and we hold any data), contact us at the email below. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
• Retention – Data stored on your device remains until you delete it (e.g. by deleting the App or clearing app data). We do not retain your data on our servers.
• International transfers – We do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EEA or UK, as we do not collect or store it on our systems.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
